This special handmade piece sets the mood for how I want to feel when I’m at home, especially on the weekends.

In our home this generous size bowl is known as ’the chip bowl’, though The Weekend Bowl offers so much more than just snacks. It’s such a versatile shape with its high sides and roomy depth and I honestly would be lost without this shape at home.

I obviously use it more often than just on weekends. It’s such a hardworking bowl that I find myself always reaching for it. I use it for snacks - as I really don’t like having plastic packaging out on the table, I also use is as a classic salad bowl, I mix cakes in it and it also moonlights as a fruit bowl which looks lovely and artful on the bench (though I’m always emptying the fruit out of it as I’m always finding a need for this versatile bowl.)

Whether I'm enjoying a quiet Saturday night on the sofa or preparing a salad for friends and family, The Weekend Bowl is always ready to be involved with what I’m planning at home.

This one of a kind piece is made in Australia by potter Sharon Alpren, who also makes our Stoneware Mugs, Black Cereal Bowls, White Cereal Bowls, White Everyday Jugs and Black Everyday Jugs. All of Sharon’s pieces can be collected together as they have a matching glaze to make a set of ceramics for the home.

I have collected Sharon's work for years and her objects make daily routine feel special. Sharon hand throws these pieces on the pottery wheel using high fired stoneware clay. They are glazed in matt charcoal black, with speckles.

Approximately 10cm high and 23cm diameter. Each piece is individually made, so size and markings may vary slightly.

Ideal for salad, serving pasta, snacks, making cakes, fruit and much more. The Weekend Bowl is oven, microwave and dishwasher safe.
